Guess which state has the

Guess which state has the most members? Tasmania I think!

According to the last Department of Statistic assessment available to me (2008), there were approx. 4,380,383 residents in Queensland, whilst the population of Tasmania at the same time was 485,300.

Therefore..... in order for QLD to have the highest number of members on the OzMS new web site, while still keeping the ratio of population and land size correct, QLD would need to have approximately 10 members for every Tasmanian member who's joined.

There are 3 Tasmanian members. Smile

Personally I think we should just admit to being Australian and lose the borders between states... But that's just me. Smile

Let me make it clear!

If the groups are used how they are meant be used you will see the benefit of them, they are meant to be used for specific posts that the group may be interested in and won't get lost on the forum as quickly. Think of things like

People asking about Neurologists near them

Where to access services near them

Trials starting near them

Events, the calendar is hooked into groups

When people go to the group home page the posts that are placed in the group forum will show up in there, when people use this how it's meant to be used you will see the benefit.

Posts that are off topic will be deleted by group managers, when we get all that organised.

We are just starting this new site so I don't see Helens post as a problem for now, anyway, but yes, if all groups do is divide members they will be useless. If you actually read your groups home page you will see that I have made this clear. I know it's all new, but group managers will be keeping an eye on all this, instead of Moderators having to do everything, a group manager will be like a sub-moderator, that controls their group, they will also have to read the same guidlines as the moderators but will not have as much power, they will manage their individual microcosm. They can ask Moderators for help of course, but hopefully they will get up to speed quickly.

I will make a post about Group managers in one of the main forums, to see who wants to be a group manager, I am still configuring things and trying to do a million things at once, I just thought if we got some people using the new site we could see if any problems crop up.

Cheers....Shock)
