So the Story goes on.....

Yesterday my husband Ben and I mate the trip down to Melbourne to visit the Neuro. This time for Ben though. We were both very nervous about what be may tell us, or what he may not tell us (as Drs do!)

After much note taking and a some physcially examinations, my neuro stated that there are many things that could be causing Ben's symptoms, and he honestly doesn't think it is anything sinister as although there were a few MSie things in there, there was no symptom that pointed the finger in that direction. He has ordered bloods, MRI and nerve conduction testing, though made it very clear that it is really just a process of ruling out and get to the bottom of what IS going on.

The difference between my initial visit with the nuero and Bens was evident, when I went to see him he gave nothing away, he gave no reassuring I don't think this is anything sinister, the bloods he did were different, with Ben he has really routine bloods, as there is a possibility it is something to do with his Fructose Malasorbtion. So just that difference gives me hope that it is nothing sinister. Though of course you ask yourself was he just saying that to allay our worry, though I doubt he would put that out there, just to return to us later and say oh its not good! He prescribed Endep for Bens pains, and tremors so we will see if that works.

So now we wait until the 14th April to do the testing and see if anything shows up. The long wait is evil, as of course Ben still feels in limbo. Though the way time flies now, it will be here before we know it!

enough on your plate already

Hi Amber, as if you've not got enough on your plate without Ben having problems as well! Let's hope that it's nothing serious. All the best, try not to stress too much (if that's at all possible). Puzzled

Glad to hear he thinks it's nothing sinister

Hi Amber,

So glad to hear he thinks it's nothing sinister. Also to hear the difference of how he treated you to your husband suggesting that. Hopefully it'll be something that's easily rectified.

I'm sure you already have googled or aware of fructose malabsorbtion but I thought I'd place a link here for those who have never heard of it. Hypoglycemia can be a symptom of this which causes tremors and other physical and psychological symptoms.

Well that sounds hopeful

Hi Amber,

Sounds like your doctor thinks that it is something entirely different. It's a shame that it will take a while before having the tests. But at least you can be sure that thorough investigation is happening. Loads of luck for you and your husband.

Thinking of you,
Jodi.
