Tai Chi Glitch - but over now!

Well, I was all ready to start Week 4, and at the part where I was to learn the week's new move, the disc got stuck in my DVD, wouldn't move from the spot. Ultimately got it out. Rang the company that I bought the DVD from and they agreed to send a replacement copy. Which they did quite promptly.

Happiness despite pain

I subscribe to an excellent newsletter from The Happiness Institute, run by Dr Tim Sharp an Aussie psychologist. Every Monday there is a newsletter on a different topic relating to happiness. Today's letter discusses happiness despite suffering chronic pain. I quite like the article -it does not downplay pain at all - it offers some strategies.

Study finds meditation decreases pain and fatigue in MS

A study has found that meditation for a period of two months decreases pain and fatigue in MS. The study also found that people had an increased ability to do activities away from home.

A Buddhist monk led the meditations for the MS group. A control group was placed on a wait list.

An abstract of the study can be found here:

I thought this topic would be good for those of us who have had and still experience the extremities of neuralgia where medication is of no benefit.
